Eh… what can I tell a bunch of complete strangers about myself that won’t bore them to tears?
Well, I’m a college graduate. I majored in English Lit/Creative Writing/Editing. Admittedly it wasn’t what I actually had in mind when I started college (I was in the pre-med program at my school), but I can’t say I regret it. I’ve always loved reading and writing for as long as I can remember, so even though I’m pretty sure I would have made a competent surgeon, I think I’ll be just as happy as an editor. Generally I’m a relatively serious person, but when writing about anime in particular, I allow myself to be silly and fun, which in turn makes writing about the anime more fun. So if you don’t like a little bit of goofiness, then I guess this blog wouldn’t be for you.
Thoughts on being an editor: We can become horribly anal and evil and pick what you hold close to your heart to shreds within a matter of moments, but please don’t take it to heart! It’s just what we do… and if we didn’t do it we’d end up seeing books full of poor grammar and spelling errors. Taking into account the horrible English subtitles when you buy import anime DVD’s, I know we can all understand how frustrating it is to read poor English.
I don’t really intend to deal with summaries in this blog. I might pop in a refresher here and there, but generally you’ll need to have seen/read what I have in order to know what I’m talking about. Sorry for any inconvenience folks, but I do have a regular full-time job, and posting summaries of everything I’ve read/seen wouldn’t allow me any sleep =/
